A bunch of rappers are running around saying hip hop isn’t dead. All in response to Nas’ track Hip Hop is Dead. It seems that Nas accomplished exactly what he desired. A conversation and debate has taken place. Along the way rappers like “Young Jeezy” have implored that what they put out is genuine hip hop. While other artist like Jay-Z have said there needs to be a Board or Commission to approve some of the moves new artist attempt to make. A healthy discussion has taken place amongst those of us that call ourselves fans. I think Viscera gave the only true answer in a previous post you can find herehttp://216skillz.com/?p=1350
I was browsin around Youtube and bumped into this Budden track I’d frogotten about. It’s entitled who killed hip hop, but that’s just to be imflammatory. It really analyzes the trends in the industry. Take a listen and see if you remember some of the trends.
